A Journey Through Shi’ah Scholarship

For the first time, The Shīʿah Institute in partnership with SPL, will be opening its doors and its beautiful library for an open discussion on its first forthcoming publication – The Mystery of Prayer and to explain the aims and ambitions of The Shīʿah Institute and how it intends to grow. The Shīʿah Institute was established on the 23rd night of Ramaḍān 1433/2012. Its objective is to facilitate and promote scholarship on Shīʿah Ithnā ʿAsharī Islam and its heritage and peoples. The Shīʿah Institute provides a forum for the highest standard of research and the academic dissemination of the timeless and universal Shīʿah tradition.

The event will allow you to open your mind, help to focus your prayer prior to the Holy Month, connect with the academics driving Shi’ah thought forward in the present day as well as networking with like minded professionals whilst enjoying dinner. Your ticket price of £20 will include dinner, the talk and a small contribution to both organisations and can be bought at http://buytickets.at/shiaprofessionalsoflondon.
The event will commence at 6.15pm on Wednesday 25 June 2014 at the Institute’s premises (The Shi’ah Institute, Bloomsbury House, 26 Bloomsbury Street, Bloomsbury, London, WC1B 3QJ) and will commence with a drinks reception, networking, a talk on the Institute and the Mystery of Prayer by Professor Sayyid Amjad Naqvi, Q&A followed by dinner and further networking.
